Day One Edition Launch Trailer

A Winning Campaign from Beginning to End

Over the course of five years, Square Enix entrusted Secret Powers with the full video campaign for the critically acclaimed NieR: Automata. From its original launch to Game of the YoRHa editions and platform re-releases, we created over a dozen trailers and developed digital campaign assets ranging from beauty shots to e-store banners. As the game’s success grew, our collaboration grew alongside it. We shaped accolades trailers, designed the official t-shirt, and helped extend the legacy of a modern classic.

Phase One: Automata in Motion

Beginning in 2017, Secret Powers helped create the pre- and post- release trailers and paid media assets for NieR: Automata‘s original PS4 release, including a Launch Trailer, Accolades Trailer, Battle Systems Trailer, DLC Trailer and a longform Gameplay Trailer. Highlighting and teasing deep gameplay mechanics, numerous protagonists and a multilayered, heavily philosophical story into intriguing and exciting marketing was a challenge perfectly suited for the creative minds at Secret Powers.

Phase Two: Become as Gods

A year later in 2018, Secret Powers was contacted again to continue our work promoting NieR: Automata, this time for the Become as Gods Edition launching on Xbox for the first time. Video assets including an E3 Trailer, E3 B-Roll and a Launch Trailer continued to promote this popular IP, bringing a whole new set of fans into the ever-growing fold. Our creative approach evolved, as each new trailer was a chance to meet the moment, speak to a growing fanbase, and show the game in a fresh light.

Phase Three: The End of YoRHa

In 2022, we jumped back into the NieR: Automata universe, this time to help bring the End of YoRHa Edition to Nintendo Switch. We produced a launch trailer, another accolades trailer, a handful of vignettes, a fresh batch of digital campaign assets, as well as designing the official t-shirt. By then, NieR had reached cult classic status, and we knew exactly how to help it land with a whole new audience. After years of collaboration, it felt like the perfect final chapter: NieR: Automata on every major platform, wrapped in style, and celebrated the way it deserves.
